Arundel is a market town on the River Arun in West Sussex, where the river cuts through the chalk of the South Downs. Part of the town lies within the South Downs National Park, and the main settlement sits just outside it, as a gateway to the Park. Most of the old town is a conservation area, with Georgian and Victorian streets.
